Dr Sindiso Bhebhe

Sindiso’s research focuses mainly on African indigenous archives and to that effect he recently co-published a book titled: Indigenous Archives in Postcolonial Contexts: Recalling the Past in Africa (Indigenous Archives in Postcolonial Contexts | Recalling the Past in Africa). His other major research interests are in oral history, community archives, archives of the subaltern, power relations in archival collections, archival diplomatics, artificial intelligence in archives and digital humanities. Between 2013-2018 he was involved in the International Research on Permanent Authentic Records in Electronic Systems (InterPARES Trust). He is now currently involved in InterPARES Trust Artificial Intelligence project.
